Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp announced the launch of the Communities feature to bring people closer.
"Since WhatsApp launched in 2009, we've been focused on how we can help people have the next best thing to an in-person conversation when they want to talk to an individual or a group of friends or family."
It would offer powerful new tools to the admin like hosting multiple sub-groups and announcement messages.
WhatsApp believes that many group chats will transition to the more structured Communities when the feature launches.
