Apple released it's first iPhone without a cut-copy-paste feature!

Former Apple software engineer and designer Ken Kocienda has revealed why Apple couldn’t include the feature at that time.

While Ken said that Apple engineers didn’t have time to incorporate the copy and paste feature in the first iPhone, there’s more to the story.

According to Ken, the team was busy creating the iPhone's virtual keyboard and the notorious autocorrect feature. They started working on copy-paste feature after the first iPhone’s launch.

While developing the copy-paste feature, Ken came up with the idea of a “text magnifying glass” that lets users know exactly where they’re pointing their text cursor. This was crucial for the copy-paste feature.

Apple finally introduced the copy-paste feature in 2009 as a new feature of iPhone OS 3.0. Interestingly, Apple even created a TV ad to advertise it.
