Popular brands acquired by Apple 

Over the years, Apple has acquired many brands.  Let us take a look at some of the popular ones. 

Siri

Surprise, surprise! Siri isn’t Apple’s creation. Siri was acquired in 2010 and has been the Voice Assistant for iPhone, iPad, and Mac ever since.

Beats

Completed in 2014, Beats is Apple’s biggest acquisition at $3 billion. 

Shazam

Apple bought the popular music recognition app Shazam for $4 million in 2018.

Intel

No, Apple hasn’t acquired the entire brand, but a part of it. In 2019, Apple acquired all of Intel’s mobile modem business for $1 million. 

Texture

The popular digital magazine app was bought back in 2018 but was shut down later for Apple News+, which offers a similar service. 

Dark Sky 

After its acquisition in 2020, Apple added Dark Sky’s features to the default Weather App and shut it down.

Beddit : Sleep Tracking

Apple acquired Beddit in 2017 mainly to improve the sleep-tracking capabilities of iOS and watchOS. 

Camerai

Acquired in 2020, it is expected that this will be a step toward the AR future.

Spaces – VR Startup 

Spaces was acquired in 2020 and is expected to help Apple get ahead in the VR race.
