  2. Tap your profile picture on the top left.

  5. Next, turn on Protect your tweets.

That’s actually all you need to do! This process remains the same for iPhone and Android, and while it is better to do it from the app, you may also be using Twitter on your desktop. Read on to do it from the desktop.

  1. Open Twitter on any browser.
  2. Click More (on the left bar) → Settings and Privacy.

How to manage follower requests on Twitter

Making your account private means that people can’t follow you instantly. Whenever someone wishes to follow you, a request will be sent, and you can choose to approve or deny it. Here’s how:

  1. Open Twitter and go to your notifications (bell icon in the menu bar)
  2. Tap the notification about new follower requests.
  3. Approve or deny the request.

The process is similar to managing follow requests on Instagram.

  1. Within the Twitter app, tap your profile picture on the top left.

II. On desktop
