Remove objects from a photo with Clean Up in iOS 18
The Clean Up tool is part of the new Apple Intelligence, which Apple has reserved for iOS 18-supported devices powered by the A17 Pro or later chip and Apple silicon. However, unlike Google’s Magic Eraser, which requires a Google One subscription on phones other than Pixel devices, Apple’s Clean Up tool is absolutely free to use.
- Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
- Open the photo from which you want to remove unwanted objects.
- Locate and tap the new edit button in the bottom toolbar.
- Next, select the Clean Up tool (with the eraser icon).
- Now, use your finger to tap, brush, or circle the object you want to remove from the photo and wait for Apple Intelligence to do its magic.
- Finally, tap the Done button in the top-right corner to save the changes.
Clean up photos to eliminate distractions
It’s that easy to use the new Clean Up Tool in the Photos app in iOS 18 to remove unwanted objects from your photos. It’s worth mentioning that besides Clean Up, Apple Intelligence also sports an Image Playground tool, which you can use to create AI images and Genmoji in various apps.
