When I came to know that Apple News has come to Mac with the introduction of macOS Mojave, I couldn’t hide my happiness. But when I discovered that the app is available only in a few selected countries like US, UK, and Australia, I felt a little disappointed. Thankfully, I was soon reminded of a trick that worked in getting the Apple News app on Mac in India despite the restriction.
Are you also on the same path as me and looking for a way to use Apple News in your country where it’s yet to be rolled out officially? Have a go at this tip, and I’m sure it won’t disappoint you either.
Get Apple News App on outside US, UK, and Australia
Step #1. Click on the Apple menu at the top left corner.
Step #2. Now, click on System Preferences ⟶ Language & Region.
Step #3. Click on the drop-down menu next to Region and select the United States from the list of countries.
Next up, your computer will restart. Once it has rebooted, open Launchpad. Apple News will be live on the screen.
Note: If you don’t see the News app in Launchpad, head to the Applications folder in Finder to access the app. To put the app in Launchpad, simply drag the News app from the Applications folder and drop it on the Launchpad.
Now, go ahead and use the app, set it up perfectly and explore all stories that appeal you a lot.
Do note that as soon as you change your country, the News app will disappear. Keep this downside in mind so that if you happened to lose the app accidentally, you would know how to bring it back.
That’s all there is to it!
